History of Calgary

Calgary's Grand Story recounts the history of Calgary from 1912 to Alberta's 100th birthday in 2005 from the vantage point of two heritage landmarks, the Grand Theater and the Lougheed Building, two of Calgary's most important and historic buildings. By mixing business and cultural histories, a complete view of local history can be explored and illuminated for a fascinating urban biography that explores the city's history in the twentieth century.

MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

What a way to show off the best of Lougheed House. Christmas All Through The House was a spectacular showcase for the Calgary Design Group and the wonderful sponsors who provided furniture, artifacts, rugs and décor items. We had hundreds of visitors over the five days of the event, and we raised significant  money to put towards our programming. We’ll definitely do this again in 2010.
